About Me

Hi! My name is Dr Aana Shah.

I am a consultant psychiatrist with 5+ years of experience holding an MD degree in Psychiatry from B.J. Medical College, Ahmedabad (Gold Medalist) and a clinical Post-Doctoral Fellow degree in Women's Mental Health from NIMHANS, Bangalore. I also hold the Membership of the Royal College of Psychiatrists, UK (MRCPsych) as of 2025.

I have certifications in

  • Trauma-focused Psychotherapy (Dr. Shalini Anant)

  • Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT) under Swasti Institute, affiliated with the Beck Institute

  • Sexual Medicine with Allo Health (Dr. Sandip Deshpande)


I have experience with managing both acute and chronic psychiatric illnesses while training in these major centres. I also have specific experience working with women with perinatal (i.e. pregnancy and postpartum-adjacent) mental health issues such as postpartum depression (PPD), postpartum psychosis, postpartum OCD and anxiety, etc. I also have experience in the management of child and adolescent mental health issues and trauma-related disorders such as complex trauma/cPTSD, PTSD; grief and bereavement; eating disorders, etc.
